One Unicorn

"One Unicorn": Beautiful Book
This larger-size hardcover contains lots of brilliant, detailed illustrations of princesses & unicorns (in colored pencil, I think). The language is simple and delicate, telling of the inevitable experience of "growing up"; the waning of interest in what were once precious childhood things. The ending was bittersweet. Overall, it's a good book for both kids and grown-ups, and a very nice piece to have in a collection.

Beauty Embodied
This books was one of my favourite when I was a small child. I recently found my childhood copy again, and was nearly brought to tears by the beauty that still spills from its pages. The illustrations are colourful and absolutely gorgeous, and the story, though simple, is one that can infuse a person's entire life, from childhood to death.

"One Unicorn" by Gale Cooper
The reason I rate this book 5 stars is because it's a very good story with an appreciated moral and the illustrations are the most beautiful I have ever seen. For instance, even the cover page has a beautiful baby unicorn with blue eyes and a gold alicorn and hooves.

A magical story
When I first picked up this book, I got so charmed by the story and its illustrations I had to read it several times. My children want me to read it to them over and over every night at bed time! It is fun, uplifting and with a little mystery feeling we all love!

Make your child happy...
This is a charming, original story that your children as well as yourself will love. Illustrations are terrific, too. And it is a great way to introduce your child to poetry!

Wonderful and creative story
This is one neat, creative book children and parents will love. It is a simple, yet fun and uplifting way to introduce poetry to a child. The illustrations are wonderful too. If you want to make a child feel happy, get this book.

I would suggest that you study the techniques in this book while you trying out the tradehard.com website. They have a free trial memebrship so it won't cost you anything unless you choose to join. These guys are very straightforward and experienced, a nice combo.

Terrific strategies from a Key Group of Market Wizards
I was quite impressed with the book by this well known Website.

I must say that Connors has put together a group of Market Wizards to run the site and write this book.

You get a number of excellent strategies that you can apply to you trading. Haggerty (former Director of Trading at FMR) provides a nice pattern called Slim Jim to Day trade.

Landry's Trend methods are key! The list could go on. I would highly recommend the book to anyone who wants new ideas from a group of Wizards!

Trials in Youngstown, Ohio
Published in Paperback by Xlibris Corporation (02 April, 2000)
Author: Wolfgang Cooper

Great Midwest Memories
"TRIALS IN YOUNGSTOWN,OHIO" is a wonderful book written by Wolfgang Cooper. Although a short story, "TRIALS" is chock full of more fervor, passion and intensity than a lot of books that run 500 plus pages. For anyone who grew up in the seventies, and remembers big cars, big industry, down and dirty local rock and roll bands and all the effort it took to win over family and friends when you were 18 years old, this is definitely a book that will get your blood pumping. Teenagers of today will also enjoy the story. Cooper has an interesting writing style that is easy to follow. I blew through it in one weekend. Enjoy!

Catcher In The Rye meets Rudy
"TRAILS IN YOUNGSTOWN,OHIO" is an interesting combination of the J.D. Salinger classic "Catcher In The Rye" and feel-good football film "Rudy," where an upstart from a steel mill town makes good on his promise to attend Notre Dame and make the varsity football team. "TRIALS" will hit home with baby-boomers who grew up in the midwest, giving them a chance to remember the anxiety of being a teenager, as well as the final glory days of the steel mill era and local rock and roll. Just about everyone went through ego-depleting moments when they were young, from constantly being harangued by parents to not being hip enough to get a date, to not being talented enough to make the football or baseball team. It's a wonderful series of events that occur when the main character of the story, Matt Burns, finally gets his moment in the sun after being degraded by both family and friends. This is a short, easy to read book, that I would recommend to teenagers or parents. Wolfgang Cooper has a simple yet interesting writing style that reads almost like a screenplay. I liked it a lot.

Trials in Youngstown, Ohio
Since we've all faced adversity at one time or another, this is a story that everyone can relate to. Cooper effectively captures the confusion and frustration faced by a young man growing up in mainstream America, where winning is often the only thing that counts. The writing is colorful, and baby boomer readers will particularly relate to the sights and sounds of the 70's. Highly recommended!

Talented new author shows her talent!
Lynda Sue Coopers, Unguarded Hearts is a story about Nina Wild, an ex-Secret Service agent, trying to prove herself as a professional body guard. The body she's guarding belongs to Mitch Halloran, a pro-basketball coach who is being stalked and isn't especially interested in being guarded. A whodunit that leaves you guessing wrapped up in a love story that is sure to touch your heart. Lynda Sue Cooper is a new author who's moved onto my auto-buy list!

Excellent romantic suspense
Unguarded Hearts by Lynda Sue Cooper an exciting story filled with wonderful and lovable characters. I couldn't put it down. I laughed, I cried, I can't wait to read her next one!

A Smashing Debut!
UNGUARDED HEARTS by Lynda Sue Cooper is a charming romance with realistically vulnerable characters that really make you root for them. The underlying theme of suspense and danger is expertly handled, giving the story a quick pace and a heart-stopping climax. The romance is satisfying and sexy. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

Veterinary Nursing
Published in Paperback by Butterworth-Heinemann (February, 1997)
Authors: D. R. Lane and B. Cooper
Average review score:

Nursing
This is an amazing text book and has been quite useful to me. It is packed full of day-to-day useful information on almost everything you need to know about veterinary nursing.

A Great Guide
I was introduced to this book while volunteering at an animal clinic that had no regular veterinarian. The veterinarian would only cover emergencies and sterilizations, not any other problems. By using this easy to use volume with clear concise information, the other volunteers and I were able to help countless animals with a huge variety of illnesses. From help with signs of disease to learning how to properly bandage an ear, it was referenced time and time again. I immediately realized I needed my own copy. Although a bit pricey, it'll earn its keep rapidly.

Veterinary Nursing
This is really a good book on the subject --- "Veterinary Nursing" Its content is one of the best if not the best. This book's presentation is the best of this kind. Really easy to read. I highly recommend to all the nursing professionals.

Wireless Internet Applications & Architecture
Published in Paperback by Addison-Wesley Pub Co (17 December, 2001)
Authors: Mark Beaulieu and Martin Cooper
Average review score:

Informative book
There is not one book as of today, that is as comprehensive as this one.

A good book to understand the evolution of wireless domain in terms of infrastructure, technology, devices and applications.

Very informative for any person wishing to understand the wireless world. Especially the first part, which deals with the evolution, providing technical details in an understandable format.

Sections on "How cell phones work?", "i-mode story" etc are very useful and informative.

The book is an ideal companion for sales and solution delivery personnel from the point of view of understanding concepts clearly.

Highly recommended for those who wish to dwell in the wireless domain or those who are already providing solutions in wireless space.

Delivers the Goods!
This timely and relevant book covers the topic of wireless architecture and application development in a through and well presented format. The content is very up to date and well explained.

When recommending books I always ask myself if I would give the text away in my TrainingCity.com classes. "Wireless Internet Applications and Architecture" by Mark Beaulieu passes that test with flying colors.

Although the book is targeted at product developers it would be an excellent addition to any telecom or IT profession faced with the task of understanding the current wireless infrastructure and state of emerging XML based wireless applications.

Clearly written by an expert

Wireless Internet overviews the various technologies and architectures of what is becoming a necessity for corporate technical staffs. It tells how to devise and implement wireless Internet applications and reveals the latest wireless hardware and software trends. It describes business products, standards, and applications, and explains issues involved in integrating wireless capabilities. It covers phone-based systems, PDAs, the wireless office and evaluates the current state of wireless communications.

To a layperson, this book serves as a good guide to learn the language of the wireless Internet and offers an initiation of the amazing applications that are enabled when wireless telecommunications and the Internet work together.

To an experienced engineer, this book gives an overview of the technology enablers and new standards such as WAP, BLUETOOTH and the road map for Global wireless data.

To an industry person, this book acts as a resource center for existing applications on the Wireless Internet. It provides an exhaustive list of existing applications created on the Wireless Internet.

Overall a very well researched book, it covers a lot of ground. Clearly written by an expert, I strongly recommend this book as a developer's guide and reference.

1 April Morning: Children Remember the Oklahoma City Bombing
Published in Library Binding by Lothrop Lee & Shepard (August, 1900)
Authors: Nancy Lamb, Floyd Cooper, and Children Of Oklahoma City
Average review score:

Both realistic and reassuring--a real contribution.
This book is a genuine treasure for those trying to explain to children the painful events that can occur into today's world. That's because children's experiences and voices are honored within a caring adult context and structure. I found the children's remarks had a cumulative, powerful, and even healing effect, which reflected accurately their concerns and showed them trying to make sense of a tragic and frightening event. In the end the reader is left with not only the very real anger and loss, but with the incredible spirit of everyone--both within Oklahoma and outside of Oklahoma--who reached out in compassion to help a fellow human being. Ms. Lamb, an Oklahoma native, was in Oklahoma City when the Federal Building was bombed. Perhaps that gives her book its ring of authenticity. We owe her thanks for taking on such a difficult subject and writing about it in a realistic, but reassuring way. This one's a keeper.

Nice insight
I liked this book! The children's views are very telling. We always think of the children when we picture this horrible event, and those are the people we hear from in this book. Thank you, Nancy Lamb
